wSHS is St. Hilary School's daily news broadcast.
Started circa 2000, wSHS provides the student body with
information about the weather, lunch specials, peace patrol, sports,
upcoming events, birthday announcements, morning prayer, etc. A segment called
"Father Kevin's Corner" highlights our Pastor, Father Kevin Murray's,
announcements.
For the 2011-2012 school year, the
wSHS room was
upgraded to a state-of-the-art media studio! Additions include:
a high performance pc, broadcasting software with ChromaKey ("green
screen") capabilities, a media server with streaming ability to
the classroom SmartBoards, the entire room was painted (one area with
ChromaKey green, one with ChromaKey blue), and 4 additional high
performance pcs for
picture and video editing.
The wSHS team consists of 3 teacher
moderators and a volunteer group of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
