Wellness Wednesday

St Hilary’s School is committed to educating its students - mind, body and soul. With this in mind, we are continuing our “Wellness Wednesday” program that focuses on promoting the physical health and well being of our children. Throughout the school year, the children will be exposed to a variety of health, nutrition, and fitness information as well as activities that guide them toward taking an active role in their own wellness.  They are invited to participate in fun fitness activities such as Yoga and Zumba.  They are motivated to move more and sit less, to go outside and play, to be mindful of time on electronics and activity in order to establish life long fitness habits.

Every Wednesday, students are encouraged to participate in an optional walking program. Walking on the parish grounds will take place every Wednesday (weather permitting) at lunch-time recess. Students who are walking may wear sneakers with their school uniforms on Wednesday’s. Students who participate in the walk earn raffle tickets. At the end of the year, fitness related prizes will be drawn.

Children are taught simple tips on how to incorporate a healthy diet and exercise into their everyday lives.

Please join St. Hilary’s School in taking a proactive approach to the well being of our children. Working together can empower them to take charge of their own health! Parent involvement is a strong part of the success of this program.  Children can assist in choices by packing their own healthy lunch to bring on Wednesdays or purchase a nutritious lunch from our school lunch program.  Parent volunteers assist in moderating the walking program for an hour each month between 12:30-1:30. Get involved by signing up for Wellness Wednesday!!

Parent Moderators please arrive at school by 12:25 pm.
